Happy 2023! — Elizabeth St Peter

Happy New Year!

I hope your 2023 is off to a wonderful start and you had a wonderful holiday season! Life has been super busy with these two love bugs.

Vincent just moved into his Pre-K classroom at his Montessori school and he is rocking it. He was super nervous but he walked into his new classroom on Tuesday with the biggest smile on his face. He has come home each day and told us “Mama, that was the best day at pre-k ever!” “I am going to have another great day at pre-k tomorrow!” “I’m a big boy now mama”. He is just that, turning into such an amazing, sweet, kind, loving big boy. He gives the best hugs. He tells Brian and I he loves us and we are “the best mama and dada in the whole world”. He waits so patiently every morning for his sister to wake up and gets so excited to run into her room and greet her with the biggest smile and make her laugh. He is always looking out for his sister, holding her hand and teaching her how to play monster trucks, cars, and games with him. He amazes me every day. He is working very hard to learn how to tie his shoes and is always up for an adventure.

Siena is busy trying to keep up with her brother. She wants to do everything her brother does. Zoom cars around, line up hot wheels, make car tracks, build magnatiles, brush her teeth, try and go potty; if her brother is doing it, so is she. She is my daredevil. If I turn my back, she has climbed onto the couch, trying to get on the table, moving the step stool to get into the cabinets or onto the bed. She absolutely loves music (asks Alexa to turn on “Elvie” ((Elvis - like mama, like daughter)) countless times a day). She is almost always dancing or singing. She has found a new love for dresses and nightgowns and will always ask for her Minnie Mouse nightgown. She loves to carry around her little purse and recently is loving putting on all mama’s jewelry and playing in my makeup and hair products. She is my little shadow. She gives the best kisses. She makes me laugh and smile all day long. In the past couple weeks her vocabulary has started to grow. She is trying so hard to talk and say everything her brother does. Her newest word is “Hot Wheels” :-)

Our days are spent in c h a o s & l o v e and honestly I would want nothing else. I have learned an abundance of patience and self regulation over the past year and a half. I have learned to slow down, enjoy the chaos the loudness, the constant mess, and to really stop and listen to these tiny little humans and their stories, ideas, and thoughts.
